Flooded with sunlight, Domaine Tempier’s grapevines flourish on 60 hectares of land spread out between the Mediterranean sea and steep slopes. Its vineyard is made up of a mosaic of terroirs: from the calcareous soils of Cadière and the more clayey soils of Castellet, to the very varied soils of the Triassic period in Beausset-Vieux and the recently acquired marly sandy soils of La Laidière. From this diversity comes a range of wines, each of which has its own enthusiasts.
This estate created in 1834 thrives on authenticity and durability. It is one of the few of the Bandol appellation that has preserved its character, the one given by Léonie Tempier when she created the cellar at the very beginning. This earned it a first gold medal in 1855, followed by many others to this day.
Lucie Peyraud (born Tempier) is the living proof of the family spirit and friendly atmosphere that prevail here. She represents the 3rd generation and continues to watch over those who keep the estate alive, from the top of her 101 years. Her secret of longevity is intimately linked to the passion of her life since she still admits to having a glass of Tempier at every meal!
