Presentation

The vineyards of Moulin de La Roque account for 1500 plots with a total area of 305 ha, distributed among the eight communes of the appellation. This very diversity is one of their finest assets. The terroir of Bandol enjoys a microclimate conducive to optimal grape maturation.

Extra

Esprit Terroirs, a box set of 5 bottles of 50 cl of red, is our favourite amongst the range offered by the wine shop in the heart of the Moulin de la Roque. All have in common the vintage, a strictly identical winemaking and the same assembly: 95% Mourvedre and 5% Cinsault. However, each bottle comes from very specific terroirs: red sand, black marl, sandy marl, rudist limestone and Triassic rollers. A tasting allows measuring the influence of soil on the taste of wine. And it's obvious! Mixture of sand and clay, marl ensure vines a water comfort, which gives full-bodied wines, fresh and fruity. Rocky and heavily limey, the Triassic pebbles lead vines to root deeply and thus give outstanding reds, with a rich aroma and a nice length. Feel free to discover and taste the other three terroirs to learn more about the variety of the appellation!

Original and unusual

The queen vintage of Moulin de la Roque is undoubtedly "le Domaine de La Nartette." It owes its name to the plot it comes from, fifteen hectares of vineyards located on the coast of Saint-Cyr-sur-Mer, between the small port of Madrague and the inlet of Port d'Alon. The owner of this beautiful vineyard is the Conservatoire du Littoral. Member of the World Conservation Union, the organization aims to protect natural areas and landscapes on the seashore.
