One can’t miss the Cave des Vignerons de Collobrières at the entrance to the village, in Notre Dame district. For more than sixty years, this cooperative has brought out the best of this unusual terroir made of low acidic schistous soils, and of vines mainly in hillsides that are carefully protected by the Maures massif and its famous chestnut tree forest.
Its new tasting and sales space baptised Le Cellier des vignerons de Collobrières makes all the difference. This gorgeous showcase for the winegrowers highlights the bottles from the cooperative cellar (40 000 per year), alongside very many gourmet proposals, from honey to pistou soup, goat cheeses, olive oil or beer, all from local producers.
Resolutely of festive mood, Collobrières celebrates the Fountain Feast around a giant aïoli. This popular event is organised in tribute to the arrival of water in the village ... in 1891. Every year, on August 15, it is no longer water that flows from the fountain but rosé wine from the Cave de Collobrières!
