At La Navarre Foundation, aromatic and structured vintages are crafted with care and love of the terroir. The Foundation is the former stronghold of the Salesians, formerly led by Don Bosco. In addition to a college and a training centre, the resort is home to an 80-hectare vineyard that produces typical wines, light and refined.
With some 180 olive trees on the farm, la Navarre Foundation also produces olive oil. This oil is so successful that the sales cellar of the domain is often out of stock! But rest assured, you can also buy the ‘Moulin Guiol de la Farlède’ olive oil there. “If it’s not ours, then it’s the neighbours’!” recalls Jacques Pellerin.
When the law of Separation between State and Church was enacted in 1905, the Domaine de la Navarre entered the public domain. It was finally sold to individuals, who eventually ceded it for a few francs to none other than a Salesian order. It then took the status of Foundation, the State Council unanimously recognized its utility at its meeting of 25 October 1977; it came full circle...
