Presentation

Surrounded by vineyards, the estate, initially managed by the Salesian fathers, was recently put in the hands of a winemaker, Mr. Gérald Rouby. In 2017, when he arrived at the estate as Chief Operating Officer, he challenged himself to restructure the estate and give it a new start. The new name of the Domaine ‘Le Songe de Don Bosco’ then marks this new chapter of history, and pays tribute to the founder of these places: Sain Jean Bosco.

Extra

The estate’s production includes about twenty hives that produce a natural honey with a taste of flowers. Spring honey and lavender honey, creamy or liquid, this nectar is a real delight !

Original and unusual

The Domaine le Songe de Don Bosco, formerly known as Navarre, was ceded to the church in 1868 with the stipulation of making it an agricultural orphanage. With little time to deal with it, in 1878 the bishop of Fréjus asked Don Bosco to take care of the establishment, and this orphanage became a Salesian House. Today, the orphanage has become a college, owned by the Navarre Foundation, which perpetuates the history and mission of Don Bosco.
