Typical of the La Londe terroir, these wines have exceptional minerality and aromatic structure. Brigitte and Jean-Pierre Fayard started from scratch and learned everything on the job; it has proven to be fairly successful: in forty four years of work, they have restored the image of Château Sainte-Marguerite, an old glory of the Var vineyards and one of the famous Crus Classés de Provence.
The 150 hectares are grown according to the principles of organic farming (the harvest is Ecocert certified). Brigitte and Jean-Pierre now share this respect for nature with their four children.
The Sainte-Marguerite vineyard is made of poor schist soils of low fertility. Forced to fetch water very deep, vines suffer hence leaving the possibility for the winemaker to fetch high maturity without losing balance or freshness. This water stress will help to increase sugar concentration in the harvest. Thus, the estate's wines are naturally sweet and expressive, with a typical aromatic framework that preserves the juice’s first flavours.
