A family saga that brings together the two shores of the Mediterranean Sea. Three is a magic number! Already an owner of two beautiful vineyards in Médoc and Bandol, the Sénéclauze family recently acquired a new domain at Luc-en-Provence: Lauzade. They have for it great ambitions that they’re slowly making real.

The Domain Lauzade has remained for 25 years the property of Louis Orizet. Originally from Beaujolais and Inspector General of the INAO, the agronomist had this curiosity typical of talented people. Thus, he planted on his estate a collection of thirty different varieties in order to effectively monitor their growth in Provence. This open-air laboratory was retained by his successors and can be discovered close by the tasting room.

Original and unusual

Since 2009, the Domaine Lauzade regularly hosts student sommeliers of the Hotel School of Nice to introduce them to the wine world. The young people help out for harvest, wine making and maintenance of an experimental vineyard of 26 different varieties. They gain a great knowledge of vine and wine as well as a special wine: La cuvée des Ecoliers. The marketing of these 2000 bottles of red and white can finance their study trips and participation in various competitions.
