Château Farambert, a family estate, is located in Pierrefeu du Var, an area traditionally linked to the vine. It benefits from plenty of sunshine, but also from more humidity than the rest of the region. Louis Perret and his nephew Philippe are the vineyard and cellar managers; Véronique and Florence are in charge of the administration and Virginia and Claude are tractor drivers.
The harvesting machine that the Perret family found upon arrival was dropped in favour of manual harvest in boxes of 30 kilos. It allows for an initial screening on foot and prevents juice spills before pressing. A cold room lets the grapes regain freshness slowly before being vinified. The house rosé makeup for it in flavour intensity.
The three cypresses of Château Farambert’s logo were inspired by an old Provencal tradition. Formerly, it was, in fact, customary to plant this trio at the property’s entrance to show the hospitality of the house. Each tree had its meaning. One symbolized welcome, another board and the third lodging.
