Integrated in the Berne Vineyards since 2010, this domain created in 1964 was Colbert’s former hunting lodge. It is named after the locality where it is located, at the foot of the Maures mountain range. The Chateau des Bertrands shines by its size: 200 hectares, 82 of which are vineyards divided into 35 plots and a range of wines as wide as colourful ¬—though the rosé dominates with 80% of the production.
The Chateau des Bertrands is also an equestrian centre with forty horses. It welcomes lovers of man's best friend, 7/7 from 8am to 6pm. The estate also houses a magnificent 18th century country house of 420 m2 that can accommodate up to 16 people, in a peaceful setting surrounded by vineyards.
Located on the Permian depression stretching from Toulon to Frejus, the Maures plain is shaped by rock outcroppings that give dry and draining soil. The high porosity in some places limits the temperature differences between day and night, thus improving grape ripening conditions.
