Domaine des Toulons perpetuatesin Rian a winemaking tradition dating back over 2 000 years.

Every November, the Domaine des Toulons is one of the staging points in the "Vélo Tout Terroir" raid. This mountain bike circuit is accessible to all and winds through the different wine estates between Rians and Jouques. The highlight is a picnic complemented with wines from the participating estates.

Original and unusual

At the entrance of the estate, on the right, the remains of Roman wine cellars are open to visitors. Over a large area, which should have reached 8,000 m² at the time, the bottoms of dolia (earthenware jars) stuck into the ground for 2,000 years are clearly visible; it is believed to be one of the largest wine cellars of the ancient world.
