This small domain of Figanières has a character of its own, with growing methods respectful of the environment, old vines, and varietals unexpected in that part of Var.
The cellar offers some local products such as olive oil from Figanières, honey, or the vinegars and grainy mustards from Clos Saint-Antoine, a Var artisanal vinegar maker.
Despite much cooler nights than the coast, the Domaine de la Chênaie grows Mourvèdre, a varietal that has a reputation for only thriving when facing the sea. It seems that it also accommodates more contrasting climate as it prevails in the ‘tête de cuvée’ of the domain, ‘Cuvée de mon Grand-Père’.
