Presentation

This recent domain is aiming for more than just excellence. In 2011, Gilles Pedini acquired Clos Gautier, nearby Carcès, with the goal to transform this domain with exceptional terroirs and make it a major regional player.

Extra

The Clos Gautier is part of an eco-responsible approach. After the installation of photovoltaic panels to use 100 % renewable energy on the winery, and the achievement in 2020 of the HVE3 certification, the Clos Gautier is now engaged in a bio conversion.

Original and unusual

The prototype airplane SE-1010 was a four-engine monoplane used for photographic reconnaissance that crashed on one of the dominant hills of the Clos Gautier vineyard. The aircraft was doing its last test flight to validate a modification of the drift, which had design problems. The six crewmembers disappeared in this tragic accident. A monument erected in their honour is visible near the area where the plane crashed.
