In the Lefebvre family, they “see wine differently”, which is to say far from the successive modes and versatile trends that agitate the wine world. With full-bodied reds, oak barrel aged whites, and rosés combining lightness and aromatic finesse, the Château de la Bégude’s wines are like their owners, they have character, and that is a good thing!
The location of Château de la Bégude is truly privileged. It is surrounded by the Chaîne de la Sainte Victoire to the north, the Massif de l'Etoile and the Chaîne de la Sainte Baume, and the Aurelian Mountains to the south-east. They act as protections against wind and sea air. Not to mention a 360 ° landscape of breathtaking beauty, conducive to serenity.
Jacques, over eighty and still going strong, is not only a winemaker: he is also a handyman and above all an inventor. In 2001, the Lépine Competition welcomed its “pro sommelier of the 21st century”: an ingenious object that aims to correct the defects of the classic corkscrew, namely its instability and difficulty to handle. This small revolution with 3 notches and 4 1/2 gimlets deserves to be known.
