Presentation

Château Canadel is not just another new domain of the Bandol appellation. With its 98 terraces clinging to the hill of the Beausset Vieux, Château Canadel brings together all the natural and human factors that favour the development of powerful wines, all under the watchful care of Anne and Vianney Benoist.

Extra

With the stated objective of proving the gastronomic qualities of their rosé —which they rather see on the dining room table than in the lounge or bar counter, the Benoists have at heart to introduce visitors to wine and food pairing. In that respect they organize the “Canadel Saturdays” once a month, a rendezvous for the whole family that is also an opportunity to discover the winemaker trade, particularly for young people.

Original and unusual

Château Canadel benefits from a strange and old natural phenomenon: a fold has reversed the usual order of geological layers. Thus, the domain’s upper soils are from the Triassic period (-200 million years), while the ones of the lower part date back from the Cetacea (-90 million years).
