Well known to fans of Bandol, Château la Vivonne recently started a new chapter in its long history. Run by its owner, Benhaim Michel, the estate is leaning for more natural farming methods to preserve and enhance its soil. As a result, the wines’ character is enhanced, in both complexity and elegance.
The cellar of Château La Vivonne sells numerous vintages. This can help identify the best bottles of the last thirty years, until 1979.
The domain is named after a woman: Anne Vivonne. Contemporary of Louis XIV, the peasant settled at Le Castellet in the early eighteenth century. She has left her marks since long after her death people still talked of Little Vivonne to designate the place where she lived.
