Presentation

Between Claviers and Seillans, in the middle of the Var forest, this isolated estate brings joy to each of its guests. Seated there under a tree at the foot of a pretty little pale pink house, one can sample local wines and forget about the rest of the world.

Extra

The property has 900 old olive trees, survivors of the great frost that struck the Var coutryside in February 1954. Sixty years have passed and the olive grove is in top form, giving a beautiful organic AOC Provence olive oil, which is sold at the domain. Another specialty of the place is art! The wine shop’s little house includes a showroom where the master of the house likes to regularly share his latest finds.

Original and unusual

Albert Lamorisse, owner of Méaulx from 1960, is still known to moviegoers for Crin-Blanc, his most popular medium-length feature, and the Red Balloon, which earned him a Golden Palm at Cannes and an Oscar in Hollywood (his son Pascal, the mentor of the field, was one of the leading parts). However his best-known work is not a movie but a board game: he is the inventor of the famous strategy game Risk, which in its half a century of existence has brought joy to many little Napoleons.
