This quiet domain offers quality wines and famous reds. This is one of the oldest buildings in La Croix-Valmer. It’s located just off the beaches of the Saint-Tropez Peninsula, and yet it's an oasis of serenity, lost in the middle of nature.
In the cellar, behind the iron gate of a small storeroom lies the domain’s treasure: the ultimate bottles of the oldest red vintages, from 1995 to 2002! There is even the 1993 vintage, the first one. “Sometimes I open a bottle with some of my friends. They are still very good,” says the hostess.
On August 15, 1944, the Château de Chausse was at the height of its popularity. The whole village was there. However, it wasn’t to celebrate the Assumption but rather to flee the fighting between the Allies and Germans, which was raging all along the coast. La Croix Valmer was indeed one of the high places of the Landing in Provence.
